The service (Climate Risk Assessment and Adaptation Planning) refers to identifying and evaluating the potential impacts of climate change on (a) archaeological sites and monuments and (b) ecosystems. The process assesses vulnerabilities to hazards such as heatwaves, floods, droughts, extreme heat and sea-level rise. Based on this assessment, adaptation strategies are developed to reduce risks, strengthen resilience, and support sustainable development. These strategies link climate risk to different types of adaptation (immediate/responsive, incremental, transformational) and may include infrastructure upgrades, improved land-use planning, ecosystem restoration, and policy measures that help societies prepare for and respond to climate-related challenges.
