Climate Risks & Advanced Data Viz for Heritage Sites

The Bloustein School can support climate heritage work through integrated research, analysis, and design services that connect environmental risk with cultural landscapes. These include spatial risk assessments (tourism pressure, flooding, heat, subsidence) using GIS and historical data; the development of interactive web-mapping platforms to visualize vulnerabilities and heritage assets; and participatory approaches that engage communities in documenting, interpreting, and co-producing knowledge around at-risk sites. Bloustein also offers design-based dissemination through exhibitions, visualizations, and storytelling to translate complex data into accessible formats for public and institutional audiences. In addition, the School can organize ad hoc studios, workshops, and short courses tailored to partners’ needs, fostering capacity-building at the intersection of climate adaptation and heritage planning.
